Stuart grew up in a small town in Mid Wales and although he competed to a high level in numerous sports he decided at a young age to specialise in golf.
After playing professionally and becoming a PGA member Stuart found his passion in coaching and during his quest to become an authority in golf was recruited by David Leadbetter Golf Academies (DLGA) in 2001. In the following years he coached players of all levels all over the world and also trained junior instructors.
The experience drawn from watching and assisting David - the godfather of golf coaching - while he coached his stable of golfers, was priceless. Despite the fact that Stuart left DLGA in 2004, they still keep in contact and David's knowledge continues to be a tremendous source of learning.
In August 2004 Stuart was approached by Troon Golf to take on the position of senior instructor at The Grove - a highly renowned golf resort north of London. As his reputation grew he started writing instructional articles for Golf International, Golf Monthly, Today's Golfer and various other golf magazines in Asia and mainland Europe. He has also featured in Golf Punk as a regular, coaching celebrities how to play golf. From this he has branched out into commentary on Sky TV's coverage of the PGA Euro Pro Tour due to his experience in coaching tournament professionals.
At the beginning of 2007 Stuart set up his own business coaching a host of professional golfers on the European Tour, Ladies European Tour, Asian, Challenge and Euro Pro Tour, in addition to his numerous amateur clients spanning all handicaps.
Stuart's teaching values are based on knowledge and instinct and today he is regarded as one of the leading authorities in golf coaching.
